Learnal is a social learning and portfolio management platform.

As a member of Learnal or a visitor to this site (www.learnal.com), you can expect your data to be held safely, securely and used fairly and legally. This privacy notice outlines how we store and use your information in a respectful way and the standards you can expect from us.

The important bits...

  • We treat your information as if it was our own, which means securing it using the latest encryption technology and never, ever (ever) selling your information or doing anything naughty with it.
  • The only Cookies we use (other than the yummy ones in the office) are anonymous and help us to deliver Learnal to you.
  • As a registered user, we'll always be up-front with you about privacy and let you know if we plan on making any changes.

Anonymous visitors to Learnal and browsing the site

When you visit www.learnal.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Contact Form

If you contact us via our contact form, this is transferred to our team securely via email. Your contact details will remain in our email system for the purpose of managing your enquiry and will then be discarded when you are satisfied with the resolution.

Creating a Learnal Account

To create an account on Learnal, you need to provide us with your name, email address, password and agree to our User Agreement and this Privacy Policy, which governs how we treat your information. You may choose to provide additional information during the registration process to help you build your profile. When you create an account, you may choose to make elements of your information visible publicly or to other members for the purpose of developing professional relationships and sharing your learning activities.

Learning Information you choose to share with Learnal

Learnal captures all your learning activities through a number of tools and integrations including a browser-based bookmarklet and connections to third party learning management products. By sharing this information, you are agreeing to us storing this information securely for you to use as part of a learning portfolio. You may also choose to add additional information such as evidence and personal reflections.

Sharing your learning activities

You may choose to share your learning activities publicly, with employers or with other members of Learnal. In this case, your personal data will be exposed to those audiences with your consent.

We may choose to anonymise information you share to identify trends and patterns to improve our algorithms and the service we offer to you. We may also choose to use this anonymised learning data to provide other relevant information and services to you.

Future Development and Privacy Changes

Learnal is a new product and as such is evolving quickly, meaning we may need to change this privacy policy as new features are introduced and new data is potentially collected. We will of course inform registered users if this is the case and give you the option to opt-out of the changes.
